*Monotype
A monotype print is a unique print. The print is made by the artist painting on a steel or copper plate with etching ink. The plate is then pressed against the paper leaving a unique "one off" print. It is sometimes possible to print the plate twice - the second print is then referred to as a "ghostprint". A ghostprint has not been made of the above print - leaving an edition of 1.
